Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Greencard by sister

Hi Melina

I was wondering if you could help me with some immigration questions if possible.

I have a friend who is living now in USA illegaly and his sister is now an American citizen. He got in USA with a student visa and overstayed. He is her only family member alive and she has 2 kids which he would be responsible is something happened to her or her husband. Do you know how long would take to him to get the green card, or to become at least legal in the country? To get a working visa?
