Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I485 confusion :(

I'm a nonimmigrant religious worker (R1). My church (employer) filed I360, immigrant petition, last year and was approved last december. Then they filed I765, I131, and I485 last January 2002 and got a receipt 2 weeks ago.

I485 receipt says:

Notice Type: Receipt Notice

Section: Adjustment as direct beneficiary of immigrant petition.

''The above application or petition has been received. It usually takes 975 to 999 days from the date of this receipt for us to process this type of case.''

We are confuse if this receipt is right.

1. Is this right ''direct beneficiary of immigrant petition''?

2. It takes 975-999 days (2.7 yrs) to process? We thought it's only 1.5 years to process a green card.

3. We forgot to submit my medical exam. Will they reject my I485 application?

Thank you for your help and advice.

Re: I485 confusion :(

1. Correct. You are the direct beneficiary of the church's petition.

2. Probably correct. No one can really predict exactly how long a case will take. To say a green card takes 1.5 years to process is just a big generalization. Some cases take less, some more. Your type of adjustment case (through R-1) is probably not as high a priority as the family or employment petition cases.

3. That can be submitted later when they request it. Better to just submit it a.s.a.p.
