Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Release on hold- Even though he has papers

My dad was detained at the el Monte Courthouse, for reasons that are unknown, according to my dad it was because they had moved up the court date without telling him and when he arrived on the date he was suppose to arrive he was detained. he then spent 10 days at the Twin Towers and on the day of his release was sent to immigration. He stayed there for 2 days before being moved to Lancaster, where he awaits his court date on October 12th. My dad had court because he was the abuser in a domestic violence case, but he has attended all his classes, still has to pay his fine, the thing is my dad has his papers, his dad is a u.s citizen born in arizona, married a citizen of mexico and my dad was born in mexico. my question is, do i need to get an attorney or will my dads good record outside of the Misdemeanor be enough. im gathering information as it is. he has a high paying job, that is on hold until he gets out. Thank you for ur time. any information is appreciated.

Re: Release on hold- Even though he has papers

As you already know, your dad acquired his citizenship by virtue of the fact that he was born to a US citizen parent.

You might want to engage the services of an attorney.
