Hi,

If your wife is presently in the U.S., and initially entered the U.S. legally (even if authorized stay has expired) she can file for adjustment of status within the U.S.: www.h1b1.com/Uscitizen.htm

Whether she can adjust status (get her green card while in the U.S.) depends on a number of factors. She must have entered the country with inspection and she must be an immediate relative. An immediate relative is a spouse, parent or child of a U.S. Citizen. Before filing for adjustment of status, she should also ensure that there are no grounds of inadmissibility that would prevent her from obtaining a green card.
