Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

indemnification agreement

My wife and I have a former brother-in-law living on our ranch free room and board and we give him 150.00/month living expenses in exchange for him doing odd jobs while here. We want to be held harmless in the event he inures himself or worse. What type of form agreement would best protect us from liability in this case. Or, should we purchase a liability insurance policy for him?

Re: indemnification agreement

It appears he is your employee and your tenant. You need a liability policy and a worker's compensation policy. Go to a knowledgeable insurance agent and tell him all of the details, and you should be fine.
