Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

Insurance Auto Repair Shop or Mine

My Metlife insurance wants me to use their Auto Repair shop for an accident that I was at fault.

They wrote an estimate of $9000 for my $17000 valued 2008 Scion xB

I think it is totaled.

Can I use my own repair shop to fix my car and is Metlife required to pay for it. Or can I have it valued as totaled by my repair shop.

Re: Insurance Auto Repair Shop or Mine

You need to read your policy very carefully or better yet, have it reviewed by a lawyer.

You have the right to get your car repaired at a place of your choosing.
