In these situations, you should note the damage (and have the moving men also sign) when the furniture is delivered. If you do this, then it's easier to make a claim. As the other attorney noted, there should be instructions for making a claim on the Bill of Lading.

This would fall into the category of an insurance claim, so I'm assuming you paid for the moving insurance that they offered.

After the first phone call, if you don't get a satisfactory response, you should have written directly to the moving company's president (a letter, not an email) and let him/her figure out who should deal with it. Be sure you specify what you want from them--i.e. have the piano repaired at their expense or reimburse you for repairs.

Seven weeks and you are still calling and sending emails? You never learned how to send a certified mail letter? I would be happy to do so for a nominal fee. Look at the bill of lading for information on how to file a claim. Of course you have photos of the damaged piano, right?
