Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

I want to open a retail store in LA area.

Legally, can I use any name for it or must I copy write the name I choose first?

I do have a corporation and trademark for the US to produce clothing, but I wanted to use another name for the retail store.

Any attorney will say (a) you can't copyright a name, and (b) you can use a name that does not belong to someone else. Consult with a good business attorney in your area for specific advice.
