Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in California

Can arrears owed to me be assigned to the state for foster reimbursement?

I'd like to know if I have been served with c/supp order for reimbursement to the County, can I assign to the State the arrearages that are currently owed to me in lieu of wage garnishment? There is an active wage assignment on the other "parent" & he is over $25,000 in arrears. I would lose my house if this occurs & the kids would not have a home to come back to.

Thank you very much! I'm almost out of time tho!
