Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in California

Juvenile Arrest

My Son was arrest he's 14. WE were not at home we were told by an officer that he is being charged with Strong Armed Robbery.He was arrested when we were not at home. What are our right's as parents.

Hello---Thank you for your question. Yes, the police have the duty to inform you right away when they are holding your child or if they plan to arrest him. You were not at home, so perhaps they did try to contact you. But maybe not. As this is a very serious charge, you should get very serious and consider hiring an Attorney for your son's Robbery case.
