Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I am classified as a exempt (salaried) employee in the state of California. I was never given formal training. After 6 months I finally got the job description I had been asking for. I do my job according to what I had been "told to do " for the first 6 months and GAAP guidelines, my boss changes my work after the fact and sends me literally 15 emails telling me what I did wrong- when it is not incorrect. I talk to HR, and it is pushed under the rug as my boss is the president. Is there anything I can do, every day I get sick to my stomach when coming to work knowing that I get her emails.

You work for an employer with poor management. There is nothing illegal about that, it is simply a bad company to work for. The courts do not get involved in these kind of issues.

The only possible issue that may be worth exploring, is whether you are properly classified as an exempt employee. Generally, exempt employees fall into one of three types: Professionals, managers and administrators (with some additional exceptions). If you believe you are being taken advantage of by being paid a salary, when you should be paid hourly (which would include overtime), consult with an employment law attorney in your area.
