Legal Question in Employment Law in California

exempt status

I am an exempt employee without management or supervisory status working a flexible schedule with limited authority to approve transactions on an exception basis and am at the same grade level as others with no exception authority (also classified as exempt). Are we truly exempt employees?

Re: exempt status

If you do not spend more than 50% of your working time managing employees, are not a highly skilled or licensed professional, or do not perform administrative functions that require independent judgment, the chances are you are non-exempt.
