I have a felony drug conviction that is over 10 years old, what is the statue of limitations on felony convictions and passing the background at the Dept. of Justice?

Uh, sorry, but records are 'forever'. That's the whole point of keeping a 'record'. There is no 'statute of limitations' except on the police initially bringing charges. If your conviction did not result in any sentence of prison time, only jail, and if it was not for certain sex crimes, and if you successfully completed all terms of probation. you may be able to get it 'expunged' by proper motion and application to the court. That would allow you to say 'no' to conviction on most private employment applications. Your record would then show 'conviction / judgment set aside / entry of dismissal of charges'. If serious about doing this, feel free to contact me for the legal help you'll need. .
