Legal Question in Employment Law in California

my husband wants to file a complaint against his boss for demeaning treatment and expecting him to work in unsafe and dangerous ways. What kind of protections against loosing his job does he have. this is at a waste water municipality.

Demeaning treatment? It is not illegal. Learn to live with it, resolve it informally with HR or mgmt, or find a new job.

Actual criminal or OSHA type safety violations should be reported, and the law protects reporters from retaliation. What that means is when he gets fired he would have a lawsuit.
