Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Hello I live in California,

I was involved in an accident during work hours, it seems the accident will be my fault.

I called my employer and told them i was in an accident. They gave me a couple of days to take care of myself and my undrivable vehicle. when I got back to work they asked me if I was ok, I told them that I had a spraigned wrist and a doctors note that states no driving...they gave me a filing job which was ok, then they asked me to run an errand I told them I couldnt since my doctor advised me not to drive...I then was asked to take leave of abcesense, I asked why? they state that due to unable to do part of my job that they had to ask me to take leave of abscense...isnt that illegal, they still owe me a check and traveling and gas reimbursment...what do i do? can i request disabilty --workers comp--file a suit against this employer???
