Legal Question in Employment Law in California

lying, greedy, cold hearted boss needs a lesson

i worked for my boss under the table. last month i

recieved an irs tax bill for the year of 1999 for 1300.00. he lied to the irs saying he sent me a 1099.

when i confronted him he told me to tell irs id pay in

two payments. by the next day he changed his tune.within a couple of weeks hes turned off my cell phone and stopped working me knowing my suspended licence makes it very hard to find work.just 3 months

ago he informed us we would have to pay our taxs from

now on, of course im out of work so he doesnt have to

deal with me, and he doesnt care. is it possible to sue him for the 1300.00, im totally under the irs microscope now, ive missed my 2nd payment id rather do

something legal for compensation rather than let my

growing rage take over

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. Your question really is a tax matter. In California, all employment is at will, meaning you can be terminated for any reason, or for no reason at all, so long as the purpose isn't discrimination which is prohibited by law.

You might want to advise the IRS and tell them what your employer is trying to do. They may be able to help you further.
