Is it mandatory to take maternity leave in California? If my employer is willing, can I work from home and still collect a full paycheck?

If your employer is agreeable to it, and you are capable of working, there is no legal reason why you cannot work from home while pregnant.

If you are entitled to a leave, you can demand and take it, but it is unpaid. It it is denied improperly, you have grounds for legal action.

If the employer is willing to allow you to work from home, with pay, great, but he is not obligated to do so if you can't come in to work. The employer is entitled to set and change hours, duties, titles, compensation, benefits, leaves, vacations, holidays, policies, rules, etc. just not retroactively.
