was not paid wages earned and am looking for next best legal step, as have left this individual a number of calls w/o a response. Is there a statute of limitatations-how much time do i have?

Unpaid 'employee' wages can be sought by filing a claim with the local Labor Commissioner's office or by filing suit if the amount is enough to justify hiring an attorney.

Unpaid contract amounts for handyman or contractor work can be sought by filing suit.
