Legal Question in Employment Law in California

last pay check.. was let go

I waslet go this morning from my job without being paid. I emailed to let her know about cal labor code 201. She is now making me drive back there to sign exit interview docs and get paycheck. this is a 70 mile drive that i cannot afford to make. can require me to do so?

Were you at the business when they let you go? Do you live the 70 miles from work, or is that a different location they want you to drive to? Normally you are correct, that when you are terminated, the employer MUST pay you on that day. If they don't pay you that day, per labor code section 203, they may have an exposure to paying you an addition 30 days pay as a penalty.
