how long can an employer hols your last paycheck?

If you were terminated by your employer, they were required to provide you a check at the time of termination. If you quit voluntarily, they must provide your last check within 72 hours. If your employer failed to pay you properly you may have a claim for waiting time penalties. Either contact an attorney or go to your local DLSE office to see about a potential claim.
