Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Personnel Policies

My church is revising its Personnel Manual. We have a few questions about California law on the minimum time off required for the following: (1) pregnancy; (2) medical (non-occupational); and (3) other family leave (care of relative, etc.) Also, how much PAID time off must we give for sickness per year? Please cite any applicable law if you happen to know the cite. Thank you!

Re: Personnel Policies

Paid time off is never required. if you want to give paid time off that is allowed but never required. as for unpaid time off, that is not required unless you are subject to the family leave act.
