If I plan to give a resignation letter to my employer, can they ask me to leave before that date without paying me?

Yes. But they'll have to pay you for the time you already worked within a short time.

Yes. In general, unless an employee is civil service, in a union, or has a written employment contract, they are an 'at will' employee that can be disciplined or fired any time for any reason, with or without �cause�, explanation or notice. You are only entitled to be paid for the time you work. .
