Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Probation

I have just completed a one year probation period. Approximately two months after completion of the probation period, I was called in to a meeting to discuss certain conduct of mine - specifically substantial personal use of business telephone at place of employment and personal use of company vehicle during business hours (I am allowed to drive the company vehicle to and from work to my home). I had not received any previous discussions, requests, or information to indicate that this was unacceptable. The company does not have a personnel policy manual that covers these or any other issues (they do have a safety manual that discusses safety conduct only). It has been mentioned that one possible action to be taken would be to place me back on probation. Is it legal to put me back on probation after I have already completed a probation period?

Yes it is legal. It is also legal for them to fire you if they want.
