Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I recently quit a job because the owner made me alter the books so she wouldnt pay out as much in taxes. Also I witnessed her stealing "personal" pictures from her clients computers what do I need to do to protect myself and protect others in this situation

When you quit the job, did you report the misconduct of your former employer to any state agency or to the police? You may wish to report your former employers' misconduct to the department of industrial relations, division of labor standards enforcement as well as to the local authorities. That way it will be clear that you disagreed with the conduct of your former employer and in fact resigned your employment due to her misconduct. It will be difficult for anyone to assert that you participated in such inappropriate conduct when you resigned your employment over it, thereby expressing your disapproval of the actions of your employer.
