Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Salary Contracts

May I contract with a non-profit faith based school and work for a nominal salary, lower than minimum wage, plus tuition for my child and family medical benefits? This would be a full-time elememtary teaching position. This is a very small school with limited funds.I am proposing this package to the school but want to make sure that we are lawful in this approach.

Re: Salary Contracts

Minimum wage is mandatory under California law. It cannot be waived by contract.
