If I signed a separation agreement with my employer that includes a separation payment and mentions that my last day is dec 1st, can I be let go before then? If so, would I still receive my separation payment? Under the "Separation payment" section, all it says that provided that I abide by the terms of the agreement, I get the money and that it will be delivered 10 days after my last date of employment, which is dec 10. It doesn't mention that date ever again, or anything about having to continue to remain employed until then. Just things like non disparagement, confidentiality, etc.
The separation agreement does not guarantee you employment until a certain date. It only gives you unearned compensation in exchange for the release.
