I'm wondering if you are truly an independent contractor, since it appears you work for only one company.

Your likely remedy is in small claims court for the amount due you. If you can be reclassified as an employee, you have an alternative remedy before the California Labor Commissioner.

You may wish to speak with either the CA Labor Commissioner or an employee-side labor lawyer to see if you should be reclassified as an employee.
