Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

accidental damage caused by wind and personal property

I live in a duplex in the state of CA. Last night was windy, which caused a chair on my balcony to blow down onto my downstairs neighbor's car, causing damage to the windshield. Am I liable, or is my landlord?

You might be held liable unless the court (or insurance adjusters) determine that it was an "act of God," that couldn't have been prevented.
