Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Breaking my rental agreement lease

I'm going to lose my job in a couple of days, and need to move back home with my mom. I have to break my lease with my apartment building. Is there a legal way for me to break this lease,or would I have to pay until someone rents my existing apartment. I cannot afford this place with no income.
