Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Landlord has to change carpet legally ??

I am living in the same appartment for 6 years and I was wondering if there is any law that would make my landlord responsible for replacing my carpet and repainting the walls that have been degraded ''naturally'' over the years. Thank you

There is no state law specifically covering your problem. Check to see if your city is covered by any additional housing/rent control laws as to a landlord's duty of upkeep. Then ask the landlord politely if it could be done.

Ask landlord if he/she will upgrade your apartment. While there is no law covering these facts, if there is a real problem, you can repair yourself and deduct, or withhold rent. However, you don't give enough facts to let me answer in a definitive manner.
