Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Landlords providing security

I rent a space and sell cards behind a fenced off area. I have had 3 cars stolen and 5-10 incidents off theft of radios and licence plates. The gate is never locked when it should be and the owner has a person he pays to live there to provide security. I just had another car stolen today. I am moving out at the end of the month but does the landlord-owner have any liability in this case. Is there anything I can do? Please help.

Thank You

Re: Landlords providing security

It all depends on the written agreement between you and the owner, which would dictate what the owner's responsibility or liability would be under the unfortunate circumstances. Absent such a written agreement, your rights here appear very strong at face valuel, however, more facts would be needed. For a free consultation, contact us directly.
