rental walkthough

my girlfriend and i are getting ready

to move out of a dump. the house is

in better shape now than when we

moved in. no walkthrough was ever

performed, although we have a list of

things that were wrong when we

moved in. are we going to be liable

for the stuff in disrepair (no screens

broken doors, missing door knobs,

etc) is there and rights we have in

Re: rental walkthough

You are not liable, but you may have to have the matter adjudicated by a judge.

I hope you take some pictures and get a few witnesses.

Please feel free to e-mail my office if you need more.

Re: rental walkthough

You have the right to request a walk through. You should make this request in writing. If the landlord refuses, he cannot sue you for damages to the premises.
