Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

I have a friend who completely lied about his education to his new employers. He went so far as to have a fake degree mailed from England where he grew up. I know he will be terminated (the employer found out today that its a fake)but is there a possibility that he could do jail time for fraud?? I was reading that doctoring your education is a class c felony.

I don't know where you're from, but there are no "Class C" (or A, B, etc.) felonies in California, and probably Your Friend will just get fired. Or not. Maybe they'll decide they like his work.
