Attorney misunderstanding or misconduct
Partner held in custody since Jan(immig.hold),we are now at 2nd phase of the pre-trial.Pls help me guide/decide or rest my doubts i have with my attorney.Other than he has not yet visited his client in jail to talk/ask abt the arrest,the following are my latest issues. #1wk b4 arraignment-tel to speak with attorney.During this call he informed me an offer of 3 yrs jail time was received. #Asked for the forfieture persons tel no.so i can proceed claiming back the seized cash amt $80,000. #At court,he informs me the offter is now 3yrs jail plus they keep all the cash seized. #Partner informed of the offer seconds b4 his arraignment #Partner wasnt given the choice to take/leave the offer. #Is it normal receiving an offer then to have more added on? #Is there any way to get a copy of these offers? #Since Jan a check amt of $13k i have left with the bail.bonds.man hoping to use it if and when his immg.hold got lifted.This is now unlikely so I told the attorney my intensions of cashing this check to pay off debts etc.,inc.$6k retainer fee out/stnd. He then informs me,in the carpark,further fees/charges. A total amount of $13k inc discount! He said he will claim the check. I have instructed NOT to hand over the check,i sold my car 4this

You didn't pay the attorney, and now bad things are happening in the case. And you are naturally apprehensive. Not to worry. I am sure the attorney is giving your partner the exact same quality of representation he gives his paying clients.
