Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in California

Legal Malpractice

I have hired an attorney in October

of '06 to help with Child Support

issues and paid $2,000. I filled out all

the forms, but attorney never filed

any of them and now I am stuck

with $40,000 judgement against me.

I got my money back a few days ago.

Is there any liability on the attorney's

side for not doing anything for over a

year?

I agree with Mr. Selik.

Something is wrong here, but I believe there must be more to the story than you added. I assume when you say you got "your money back", there was a refund by the attorney.

Check your local phone book under State Bar numbers, if and when you do want to register a complaint.
