Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in California

I was a passenger in a car accident about four years ago. My lawyer accepted a settlement where, he explained, 1/3 would pay attorney fees, 1/3 would pay medical bills, and the remaining to me. The settlement, as I understood was for 15K. I received my 5k in 2009 but, about year later, one of the medical treatment centers claimed my 2K bill was still unpaid. I contacted my lawyer about the case but he has been "looking into the matter" ever since. The collections agency said they had agreed to a settlement by July 1 but he failed to settle the debt and now he is not responding to phone calls or emails. How should I proceed?

First see if they had a lien.Investigate if the had contacted them and what was done. Provide that information to him. Then maybe report it to the bar.
