Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

Permanent disfigurement

About two months ago while wrestling I aquired a cauliflower ear. The next day I went to the emergency room and two days after that went to my own physician. Both doctors chose to do nothing about the ear and assured me that it would return to normal in time. Two weeks later with no improvement I was sent to a specialist(ENT). After six weeks of treatment the ENT says that my ear will be permanently disfigured due to the lag time between the injury and treatment and may need plastic surgery. Do I have any recourse?
