Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

I had to have a surgery to remove sutures left in after bariatric surgery. Should I have to pay for this second surgery

If the sutures were left purposely, then yes because it may have been medically necessary. If however, the sutures were left unintentionally, and are considered "foreign non-therapeutic" items, then you do not have to pay for the removal surgery. Additionally, they have to pay you for undergoing unnecessary surgery.
