Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Chino PD refused to do a report for accident on private property. This was a busy Target parking lot. An unlicensed (no permit either) minor first tried to back a F150 Ford out of her spot and in doing so hit my car. As I watcher her, she pulled back in. I waited a minute to walk behind her to get to my car and when it appeared she was going to remain there, I walked behind only to have her back up again into ME pushing the cart with my little girl on it. Chino PD said it was private property and they can't do anything about it. I find this resonse one of laziness and not wanting to spend time on the situation. Any specific knowledge out there on private property rules in CA?

The police don't usually make reports of auto accidents unless there are injuries. There's no reason why you can't take the driver and the vehicle owner to court for damages.

Your insurance company may be able to resolve your property damage claim. If you or your child was injured, get medical attention and consult an attorney. Watch out for legal time limits.
