Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

To consult or not

My father suffered a fatal heart attack while driving home from work. The vehicle he was driving struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk. The pedestrian suffered a broken leg. My mom was just recently summoned with a Subpeona. My question is should we trust the insurance company to handle the situation or should we consult with an attorney?

If you're NOT being sued, I have to ask: where is the subpoena from?

If you haven't already informed the insurance company of the lawsuit, do so immediately!

You trust your dad's ins. co. They'll defend you and provide an atty for you at no charge. That's what you paid a premium for. No need to spend your money at this time.

As Ronald Reagan used to say: "trust and verify". Turn it over to them and then stay informed by contacting your insurance rep.
