Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

My dog was bit the other day by a large pit bull. The pit bull was running around free and got into my backyard and bit my Chihuahua. We took my dog to the vet and the bill came out to be 1,500$. We found the owner of the pit but he refused to pay for the bill. Can i sue him so he can pay my dogs vet bill????

You absolutely can sue the owner of the pit bull for your damages. The Small Claims court will be your best venue. You will have to pay the vet bill yourself, then seek reimbursement from the court. Good luck.....

The owner of the pit bull was negligent. You can sue the owner for the damages to your dog. Since it is such a small amount Small Claims Court is your best venue.

Absolutely sue the bum in small claims court. Clear liability and statutory strict liability. Also report him to the local animal control so that they take some action against him so that this doesn't happen again.

Good luck and go get him before his dog gets someone else.
