Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

My mother in law was at a major retail store, and upon exiting, she tripped and fell over a large rock (about the size of a softball) in the pedestrian cross walk. She went to the doctor today, and has a fractured ankle, and bruised elbows, toes, and knees. What can be done here?

In a serious injury case like hers, it's important to retain an attorney right away. The investigation must be properly done at the soonest possible time, before the store has the chance to tamper with the evidence. Your mother-in-law should certainly retain an attorney to represent her in this matter and to ensure that her rights are protected against the defendant. Your mother-in-law should have an attorney on her side to ensure that she receives a proper settlement from the insurance company. Also, she should receive proper medical care for her injuries and be advised as to what type of future medical care she will need as these maters will be considered in assessing the value of her case.
