Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Personal Injury From Safety Glass

Tempered safety glass on my shower door shattered and did NOT break according to specs. The shards cut my wrist, shoulder, leg, arm and hand. The mfgr. of the glass is offering me $1000 to sign a settlement. What should I do?

Call us at 213.388.7070 and let us know the extent of your injuries and if you need future treatment such as therapy, surgery and etc. If any of the cuts are in visible areas like face, you need to consult with a plastic surgeon to determine whether the scar is permanent. call us for a free consultation.

My best guess is, without knowing more, that $1000 is far less than you'd get if you retained an attorney, even taking into account the attorney's fee. Remember there are strict time limits for filing lawsuits, and you could be out of luck if you delay.

Re: Personal Injury From Safety Glass

How badly were you injured? If the cuts were minor, $1,000 might be a fair settlement. If they were severe, then $1,000 wouldn't be remotely reasonable. You may want to sit down with an attorney and discuss exactly what happened.

It depends on how bad your injuries are. No one can tell you if this is reasonable without knowing how badly you were cut, whether you want to the doctor, etc....
