Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Can I sue civil and still collect w/comp?

I was injured on the job in 2001.

I have a spine injury due to not seeing a step down at this car dealership I was delivering to . there were no warning signs, etc.

I am currently on TDD workers comp through my employer.

Can I sue the car dealership in a personal injury civil suit in addition to receiving workers compensation?

If so what is the statue of limitations on that?

Yes, depending on relationship of your employer to car dealership.

If injured this year, then two years (new law).

If last year, probably two years, but not clear, I would count on one year.

You can sue the dealership. As the statute has changed,I cannot tell you when to file, but see an attorney ASAP.
