Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

i was wondering how long does it take for a personal injury to settle? does it settle within 6 mos or 9 mos ? my personal injury happened oct 9, 2011 and it just got settled this month. its not a complicated accident. insurance admitted its their insured's fault. of course they offered a low amt to settle. is it an atty's strategy to prolong the case and ins offered a low settlement ? whats the normal amount of months does it take to settle a personal injury case in california? my car damage was more than $3000 dollars and Drs bill $7000 (myself and my daughter in an accident).

how long does it take ? From one day to never.

If it already settled, what does it matter what is 'normal' ?

If it hasn't really settled, then hire an attorney if you don't know how to effectively handle the litigation it will take to get reasonable value from it. Feel free to contact me.
