Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

How to break a lease?

Because of my financial situation I

have to leave my place. I have 8

months left. I read the lease

agreement and it does not mention

anything about terminating the

lease. Also this is a back house that

is attached to another unit. I believe

its was agarage. Is there a website

where i can find out if this place has

been inspected?

Re: How to break a lease?

Why don't you do the civil thing and talk to the landlord about having to leave?

You might also check with the building department and see if the garage/living unit was registered as a dwelling. If not, rent should not be charged.
