Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Forms to file

I was leasing with the option to buy a home which was condemned by the city

the house is located in 4 months after we moved in. My husband, my 3

children and I were given 48hrs to move. The person selling the home is

refusing to give us back the money for the option and 1/2 rents paid. She is

now suing us for breach of contract. I can't afford a lawyer at this time. I

need to know which forms I need to submit to the court to answer her so that

I don't forfeit the case and help in finding a lawyer who can help us.

Re: Forms to file

The following link is a a form answer. It sounds as if you should be filing a counter suit against the owner for fraud.

Re: Forms to file

You should file an answer and a counter suit. A law library or on-line form file should have the forms you need. Also, you may be able to argue that since you had an option to purchase, you should be entitled to a portion of the condemnation award representing your interest in the property. I think you may be able to find an attorney that might take this matter on a contingency basis.
