Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Lease & property management

I recently moved out of a house i was leasing last thursday, that was the day the keys were turned in to the property management. A final inspection was planned sometime over the weekend. I get an email yesterday saying when they got there the refrigerator, oven and microwave was missing. I cleaned and made sure everything was there the night before the inspection. Recorded a short documentary on my phone of how i left the house that wednesday night. The property management is trying to hold me liable for the missing stuff. Can they? and what can i do?

Re: Lease & property management

The property manager can claim that you took the items. However, you can defend against that claim with the pictures, and hopefully witnesses that the items were present when you turned the apartment over to the manager. Start collecting your evidence right now.
