Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Are mice in a cage considered ''pets''?

Hello. My landlady threatens to terminate the rental agreement unless I dispose of the couple of white mice I have. The rental agerement says ''no pets'' and she insists that it includes white mice, even though they are contained in a solid glass enclosure and have no way to escape. Is she right?

Thanks in advance.
