Pit bulls

I am a landlord in california and my potential renter has a pit bull that he claims is ''friendly''. Am I liable if the dog bites anyone?

Re: Pit bulls

Maybe.....the scenario is that a dog-bite victim could sue you for "negligent renting" - even though the dog isn't yours, and the tenant should be and probably would be the chief target of a dog-bite suit, plaintiffs have a tendency to look for deep pockets and/or to invent theories of liability to involve anyone in sight in the suit. I suggest you discuss this with your insurance agent.
